SICK LEAVE TRANSITION. 1. All employees, except EMS employees, who have five (5) or more years service, and fewer than 235 accumulated sick leave days, as of December 31, 1999 will be credited with an accumulated sick leave bank of fifty percent (50%) of their unused sick leave remaining to their credit at that time. The unused credits shall include credits acquired under the following provisions of the April 1, 1998 to March 31, 2000 Collective Agreement: 2. Employees receiving payment for the remaining fifty percent (50%) of their unused sick leave remaining to their credit at their rate of pay in effect as of January 1, 2000 or deferring the payment until their retirement, termination or death, as provided for hereunder. For clarity those employees who choose to defer payment until retirement, termination, or death shall receive payment at their rate of pay in effect at the time of retirement termination, or death. 4. In the event any employee is on sick leave as of January 1, 2000, the employee will continue drawing from their previous accumulated sick leave until return to work. Upon return to work, the unused sick leave credits shall be calculated; and their notice of option and payout dates adjusted accordingly. 5. Upon termination, retirement or death, any employee who had fewer than 235 sick days as of December 31, 1999 and who has an accumulated sick leave credit remaining from the fifty percent (50%) of their unused sick leave which was set aside for use under Article 20.15, shall have paid to them or their estate ten percent (10%) of the unused sick leave bank credits remaining at that time. The rate of payment shall be their rate of pay in effect at that time and shall be in addition to any payment that was deferred in accordance with Item 6. 6. Employees who have 235 or more sick days remaining to their credit as of December 31, 1999, shall have 117.5 days set aside for the payment options contained in Item 6 and all remaining sick days shall be placed in the employee’s accumulated sick leave bank. SICK LEAVE TRANSITION. The following provisions shall apply to members hired on or before July 22, 2013 only and only to those who have not elected the option of transitioning their accrued sick bank under the previous working agreement:
SICK LEAVE TRANSITION. All members of York Regional Police covered by the Senior Officers' Working Agreement will be placed on the schedule of sick leave credits contained in the revised Schedule "B" of the Working Agreement effective July 1, 2001. Credits shall be calculated on a pro-rata basis during 2001. The following provisions apply to members covered by the Working Agreement on or before the date that the foregoing provisions come into effect:

SICK LEAVE TRANSITION. On July all current employees as of ratification will be entitled, on completion of the probationary employment period, to twenty (20) hours paid sick leave. On December all current employees as of ratification with unused sick hours will have their sick hours paid out up to a maximum of twenty (20) hours.

  • Sick Leave Transfer An employee may transfer their earned sick leave to a spouse, sister, brother, parent, child or any designated person employed by the District under the provisions of. Board Policy 3430.03—Sick Leave (c) (3) (4) and related procedures.

  • Sick Leave Plan The benefits of the Company’s Sick Leave Plan shall be considered as part of this Agreement. However, it is recognized that its provisions are not an automatic right of an employee and the administration of this plan and all decisions regarding the appropriateness or degree of its application shall be vested solely in the Company. The Company’s Sick Leave Plan will provide that probationary and regular employees will commence with a credit of eight days at 100 percent (100%) and 15 days at 75 percent (75%) pay, payable from the first day of sickness. This credit will continue to be available until the employee attains his/her first annual accumulation date as a regular employee. At the time of this accumulation date and each subsequent accumulation date he/she will acquire additional credits of eight days at 100 percent (100%) pay and 15 days at 75 percent (75%) pay. The accumulation of credits will be subject to the provisions of the Company’s Sick Leave Plan. Regular part-time employees shall receive a pro-rated number of sick days. When a regular part-time employee is absent due to illness on a scheduled day of work, they shall be paid for the hours of work scheduled for that day provided sick leave credits are available. Normally employees will be expected to arrange routine medical or dental appointments during non-working hours. Where such appointments cannot be arranged during non-working hours and the employee can be released from his/her duties, then the time shall be charged against an employee's sick leave time except in the case of medical appointments of less than half a day where normal earnings will be maintained. Employees who are on sick leave for 30 days or more may be eligible to participate in a vocational rehabilitation program in accordance with the Company’s policy. All major medical absence forms will be completed for any absence of four (4) continuous days/shifts or more or when requested by management. The Company will compensate the employee for the cost associated with completing these forms up to a maximum of $30.00. Additionally, the company will compensate the employee for the full cost of all medical notes, medical forms or medical information required to support LTD or other Wellness programs. This provision applies to Doctor’s notes requested by Line Management as part of the administration of the sick leave plan. Employees will be required to submit all forms required by management through their personal physician. Sick Leave benefits are conditional upon receipt of these forms and it is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that the employer receives these forms within a reasonable period of time. Any discipline related to sick leave that is imposed and grieved by the union will be referred directly to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for resolution.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.
