SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. 75.1 A Deputy Minister or his or her designee may grant an employee leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year upon special or compassionate grounds.
75.2 The granting of leave under this article shall not be dependent upon or charged against accumulated credits.
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. 25.1 Leave-of-absence with pay may be granted for special or compassionate purposes to an employee for a period of,
a) not more than six (6) months with the approval of his / her Deputy Minister;
b) over six (6) months upon the certificate of the Public Service Commission.
25.2 No employee shall absent himself / herself from duty on a leave of absence provided for in this section unless he / she has previously obtained the authorization required by this Article.
25.3 An application for leave-of-absence under this Article shall be in writing and shall set out the reasons for the leave-of-absence.
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. (Applicable to Permanent Part-time)
44.1 The Employer may grant leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) scheduled work days in any attendance year as defined in Article 41.1 to an employee upon any special or compassionate ground and the period of the leave shall be charged against the attendance credits of the employee unless otherwise herein provided.
44.2 Leave of absence with pay may be granted for special or compassionate purposes:
(a) Up to six (6) months with the approval of the Employer; and
(b) Over six (6) months upon the recommendation of the Employer and with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. 22.01 The Department Manager, in consultation with Human Resources may grant an employee leave of absence with pay for up to three (3) days in a year upon special or compassionate grounds for reasons other than those specified in Article 21. It is agreed that such leave will not be unreasonably withheld.
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. (a) The Director or his/her designee may grant an employee leave of absence with pay for not more than two (2) shifts in a calendar year upon special or compassionate grounds.
(b) The granting of leave under this Article shall not be dependent upon or charged against short term disability and such requests shall not be unreasonably denied.
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. The Vice President, Human Resources or their designee may grant an employee leave-of-absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year upon special or compassionate grounds. In cases of bereavement, it is understood that such leave will not be unreasonably withheld.
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. (a) The Chief Administrative Officer, or his/her designate may grant an employee leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year upon special or compassionate grounds. The granting of leave under this article shall not be dependent upon or charged against accumulated credits.
(b) Leave of absence with pay may be granted for special or compassionate purposes to an employee for a period of:
(i) not more than six ( 6 ) months with the approval of the Chief Administrative Officer, or his/her designate;
(ii) over six ( 6 ) months with the approval of the Board.
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. 73.1 A leave of absence with pay may be granted for not more than three (3) days per year upon:
a) family crisis situation involving a family member;
b) family days which shall include caring for a sick child or family member;
c) a natural or accidental disaster. Compensation for this leave with pay shall be based on the employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work for that day had the leave not be granted.
73.2 The granting of leave under this Article shall not be dependent upon or charged against accumulated credits
SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. The General Manager or designee may grant an employee leave-of- absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year upon special or compassionate grounds. It is understood that in granting such leave, the Commission will be provided with reasonable explanation for the request.
