Special Pay Practices. ‌ 14.1 Court On-Call‌ 14.1.1 Court On-Call" means that period of time during which an employee who enjoys safety employee retirement benefits is required and authorized by a Management employee to be available by telephone or other means approved by Management during off-duty hours for call back to duty for a court appearance. Effective the pay period following Board of Supervisorsapproval of this Agreement, such employees placed on Court On-Call status shall be paid two (2) hours of pay or compensatory time off, at the overtime rate (time and one-half), for any period of Court On- Call required from 8 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. and two (2) hours of pay or compensatory time off, at the overtime rate (time and one-half), shall be paid for any period of Court On-Call required from 12:30 P.M. until 5:30 P.M., notwithstanding the actual time the employee is on-call during each period.

Temporary Supervisor Pay: In the unforeseen event an employee is assigned by the Sheriff or his designee to assume the duties of a shift supervisor for two (2) hours or more, he/she shall be paid at the lowest step of the higher rank that provides at least a 5% pay increase, for the duration of the assignment. Preference shall be given to employees on current promotional eligibility lists, then FTOs. No employee shall be assigned such duty nor permitted to assume such duty until he/she has completed probation. This is intended for unforeseen events not lasting longer than one (1) shift. Special Pay Practices. A. Work Out of Classification: Claims for Work out of Classification processes in accordance with Personnel Commission Rule 550 and/or California Education Code 88010. The District and the Commission may provide for an upward adjustment in salary for any period of time less than five (5) days. The employee shall forward the claim to his/her immediate supervisor or authorized person who required him/her to perform the work out of classification. Such immediate supervisor or authorized person shall, within ten (10) working days, respond to the claim and forward it to the appropriate authority in accordance with Personnel Commission Rule 550.

Call Back Pay Whenever an employee is unexpectedly ordered by his Department Head or designated management representative to return to work following the termination of his normal work shift and departure from his work location, the employee shall receive a payment of four hours' pay at the rate of time and one-half of the employee's regular rate of pay.
