Common use of Special Use Clause in Contracts

Special Use. Effective July 1, 2021, faculty members will be permitted to use their accrued and available sick leave when the faculty member is unable to telework and is required to be at home to provide parental supervision for minor children under the age of 16 who are required to quarantine at the direction of the child’s/children’s school or child care provider consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) and/or Minnesota Department of Health guidelines due to contagious disease exposure, but where the child/children are not themselves ill. At the discretion of the state university Human Resources office, the faculty member may be required to provide documentation of a directive to quarantine by the child’s school or childcare provider.
