Common use of Speech-Language Pathologists Clause in Contracts

Speech-Language Pathologists. 1. Speech-Language Pathologists shall be paid according to the Nurses, Speech and Language Pathologists, & Psychologists salary schedule (UTR NS&P). 2. The District and Union shall collaborate to create a system for assigning SLPs that takes into account factors such as the time spent providing face-to-face direct services to students as well as the time spent performing other activities necessary to support students’ education programs, implement best practices for school speech-language services, and to ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA, 2004) and other mandates. The first meeting shall occur within two months of ratification of this agreement by both parties. The SELPA retains sole authority to establish case load if agreements cannot be made. 3. SLPs shall be assigned to schools based upon the following factors: a. Caseload at the site b. The weighting system referred to in paragraph 2 above. c. SLP’s skills, training, and expertise d.
