STATUTORY HOLIDAYS AND FLOATING HOLIDAYS. (A) The four (4) paid statutory holidays shall be as follows and all necessary work done on these days shall be paid at double time. (B) Statutory Holidays for day workers will not be considered as a regular day off. (C) CANADA DAY - 24 hour shutdown from 6:30 a.m. on the morning of July 1st, until 6:30 a.m. on the following day. LABOUR DAY - 24 hour shutdown from 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the holiday until 6:30 a.m. on the following day. CHRISTMAS DAY - a shutdown of 40 hours from 2:30 p.m. December 24th until 6:30 a.m. December 26th. An additional 8 hours holiday pay for those who qualify under the Statutory Holiday clauses. NEW YEAR'S DAY - a shutdown of 32 hours from 4:00 p.m. December 31st until 12:00 Midnight on January 1st. AGREEMENT COVERING THE OPERATION OF THE MILL DURING NEW YEAR'S DAY and CANADA DAY HOLIDAY: (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of the collective agreement and in particular those provided for in Article 14, The Company will have the right to operate the mill during the statutory holidays of New Year's Day and Canada Day on a voluntary basis. However, if sufficient qualified voluntary employees are not available to fill the required department schedule, the vacancies will be filled by reverse seniority from the junior qualified employees of each department. The Company will advise the Union sixty (60) days in advance of its intention to operate on New Year's Day and Canada Day Holiday. (i) When production continues during a statutory holiday, crews will be kept to a minimum as is done during regular operations on Sunday. (ii) An employee who works during a statutory holiday so that production may be maintained, will be paid in the following manner: (a) the statutory holiday is paid according to Article 14.10(D)(1); (b) double time is paid for hours worked: (c) for each hour worked, an additional payment will be made of one

The Company will advise the Union sixty (60) days in advance of its intention to operate on New Year's Day and Canada Day Holiday.
(i) When production continues during a statutory holiday, crews will be kept to a minimum as is done during regular operations on Sunday.
(ii) An employee who works during a statutory holiday so that production may be maintained, will be paid in the following manner:
(a) the statutory holiday is paid according to Article 14.10(D)(115.10(D)(1);
(b) double time is paid for hours worked:
(c) for each hour worked, an additional payment will be made of oneone (1) hour at the rate of pay of the job at which the employees worked;
(d) an employee who works a complete relief shift during the twenty-four (24) hours of a statutory holiday, may take a compensatory holiday (unpaid) before the following month of May, at a date agreed upon with his immediate supervisor.
(iii) The employee who does not work during his statutory holiday is paid according to Article 15.10 (D)(1).
(iv) The weekly work schedule will be respected when the mill operates on a statutory holiday
(2) During the total shutdown of the mill for statutory holidays, procedures for shutdown and for start up of the mill will be carried out as per the current practice.
(3) This agreement does not apply to employees whose regular work must take place during statutory holidays while the mill is not in operation.
(4) The Company will operate on a continuous basis unless the Company notifies the local union of its intention to shutdown. Whenever operations are maintained during a statutory holiday, the provisions of 15.10 (C)(1) governing operations during a statutory holiday will apply. More specifically, whenever operations are maintained on the statutory holidays of Christmas and Labour Day, as outlined in Article 15.10 (C), the procedure for assigning employees will be on a voluntary basis. A regularly scheduled employee who chooses not to work will notify his supervisor no later than twenty days in advance of the holiday. Should additional employees be required, the Company will post for the required volunteers. Preference for voluntary work will be given to qualified employees, by departmental seniority, schedule permitting. If the Company is unable to obtain the sufficient number of volunteers, production will not be scheduled. This staffing procedure can be modified locally by mutual agreement between the parties. As a result of this change, Canada Day will become a mandatory run through day and will be managed in accordance with Article 15.10 (C)(1).
(D) The shutdown periods may be changed by mutual agreement. It is further agreed that all employees whose rates are fixed by the terms of the Agreement and who have been in the service of the Company for not less than thirty (30) days immediately preceding a designated statutory holiday shall be entitled to receive holiday pay for Canada Day, Labour Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day subject to the following conditions:
(1) Statutory Holiday pay will be at the rate of eight (8) times the employees regular hourly rate unless the statutory holiday would have been a working day on the employees regular twelve (12) hour shift weekly schedule and the employee does not work on the statutory holiday in which case the employee shall receive twelve (12) hours pay at his regular rate.
(2) Employees who would normally have been at work on such designated Statutory Holidays shall receive holiday pay.
(a) Employees who are on regular vacation at the time of such designated statutory holidays shall receive holiday pay in addition to their regular vacation pay. When a statutory holiday falls during an employee's annual holidays, said employees may opt to take another day off in lieu of the statutory pay at a mutually agreeable time.
(b) Tour workers whose scheduled day off falls on a designated statutory holiday will be paid for the statutory holiday and will be given the option of another day off without pay at a mutually agreeable time.
(a) Employees who are obliged to work on a designated statutory holiday shall be entitled to double time for the time worked on such holiday and to one day off with pay for eight
