Step and Merit Increases. a. Employees shall receive an annual merit bonus in the amount of one percent (1%) of the employee’s base salary shortly after their annual evaluation date if their performance evaluation is shown to be at a level of outstanding. Employees shall receive an annual merit bonus in the amount of two percent (2%) of the employee’s base salary shortly after their annual evaluation date if their performance evaluation is shown to be at a level of Pursuit of Excellence. The evaluation rankings are: 90% and above = Pursuit of Excellence 80% to 89% = Outstanding 70 to 79% = Satisfactory Below 70% = Failing b. If the employee has not been evaluated within thirty (30) calendar days following his/her anniversary date, the merit increase will be effective at the beginning of the pay period following the employee's anniversary date.
