Subgrade Preparation. The surfaces to be lined shall be smooth and free of all rocks, stones, sticks, roots, sharp objects, or debris of any kind. The surface should provide a firm, unyielding foundation for the membrane with no sudden, sharp or abrupt change or break in grade. No standing water or excessive moisture shall be allowed. The Contractor shall certify in writing the surface on which the membrane is to be installed is acceptable before commencing works. The Contractor's Quality Assurance Program shall allow for submission of the certification to the Superintendent prior to laying the liner. The Superintendent shall also inspect the entire subgrade surface area of the cell prior to commencement of liner placement.
Subgrade Preparation. Subgrade preparation shall conform to the requirements of Subsection 301-1.2, “Preparation of Subgrade,” of the STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, STANDARD PLAN 1806, and these Special Provisions. After the subgrade is made, the CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER to inspect the Subgrade.

The Purchaser will be required to furnish weight tickets to the FS for each load of commercially obtained crushed aggregate prior to the final inspection. For aggregate purchased from the government, a count of truck loads will be required in addition to finished depth checks for the placed and compacted aggregate. Widths and lengths will be as staked or from schedule. When it is mutually agreed that all or part of the Surface Course Material is not needed, the estimated cost of surfacing not placed shall be charged to the Timber Sale Account in accordance with BT8.31. The purchaser will be required to furnish weight or volume tickets to the Forest Service for the amount of surface course material placed. When it is mutually agreed that all or part of the surface course Material is not needed, the estimated cost of surfacing not placed shall be charged to the Timber Sale Account in accordance with B8.31.
Subgrade Preparation. The subgrade area of the street right-of-way shall be cleared of brush, weeds, vegetation, grass and debris. All cleared and grubbed materials shall be satisfactorily disposed of. The existing grade shall be excavated to bearing soil as approved by the design engineer and approved by the City Engineer. The subgrade shall be compacted to a minimum density and be witnessed by the City inspector. Compaction tests may be required to be conducted at the discretion of the City to verify same. All subgrade preparation shall be completed in conformance with the Washington State Department of Transportation Standard Specifications.
Subgrade Preparation. The contractor shall excavate the road widening to subgrade depth which is to be bladed true to line and grade and compacted to 95% SPD prior to the application of any granular base material. The unit price for subgrade preparation shall also include filling where required to bring subgrade to proper depth with dry compacted soil. Any deleterious or unsuitable material, including the asphalt, shall be disposed off- site. Any excess materials shall be disposed off-site at the contractor’s expense.
