Sudden Illness Clause Samples

The Sudden Illness clause defines the procedures and rights of parties if one of them is unexpectedly incapacitated due to illness. Typically, this clause allows for the postponement or rescheduling of obligations, such as meetings, performances, or deadlines, when a party cannot fulfill their duties because of a sudden health issue. For example, if a key participant falls ill before a scheduled event, the clause may permit a delay without penalty. Its core function is to provide flexibility and fairness, ensuring that unforeseen medical emergencies do not result in automatic breaches or undue hardship.
Sudden Illness. For seniority employees, the same qualifications outlined in ‘Article 14.02’ of the Collective Agreement shall apply. Lost hours for which the employee seeks compensation shall be deducted from the sick time bank. Hours paid by the Company or deducted from the employee’s bank will be at the rate of 1.67 times the employee’s applicable hourly rate. The Company reserves the right to remove a Weekend Schedule employee from such schedule if, in the Company’s discretion, that employee’s incidence of sudden illness is appreciably above the norm for Weekend Shift employees.
Sudden Illness. A deterioration in the state of health of an individual during a journey covered by the policy, the diagnosis and confirmation of which is undertaken by a legally recognised doctor or dental surgeon and requires medical attention.

  • Illness injury, or pregnancy-related condition of a member of the employee’s immediate family where the employee’s presence is reasonably necessary for the health and welfare of the employee or affected family member;

  • Family Illness The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or designated by Management.

  • Sickness In the event that an employee requires hospitalization or is seriously ill during his/her annual vacation period, the employee shall, upon request and upon presentation of a physician's statement, apply the period of illness or hospitalization to sick leave rather than vacation, provided the sick bank is not used. The employee must inform the College of the claim within one (1) week of returning to work.

  • Accident INVESTIGATIONS Whenever an accident occurs involving the equipment or personnel of a Supporting Party, the Protecting Party shall take immediate steps to notify the Supporting Party that an accident has occurred. As soon as practical, the Protecting Party shall initiate an investigation of the accident. A team made up of appropriate representatives from all affected agencies shall conduct the investigation. Costs for investigation personnel are Party-specific and will be borne by the sending Party. Other accident or incident investigation costs are the fiscal responsibility of the Party (ies) that has jurisdiction and/or investigative responsibility. The sharing of information between Parties on accident investigations and their findings and probable causes is a valuable tool for safety and must be encouraged.

  • Critical Illness Three (3) days per year, with pay, shall be granted in the case of a critical illness or accident to a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in Section 9.4.2. A statement by the physician verifying the need for the employee to be present with the immediate family member shall be attached to the absence form.
