Common use of Summer Shift Clause in Contracts

Summer Shift. Day Shift Afternoon Shift Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Management agrees to regularly schedule full time bargaining unit employees only on the day shift. Full time bargaining unit employees will be given the first opportunity to volunteer for the afternoon shift. If no bargaining unit employees volunteer for the afternoon shift temporary employees will then be scheduled. Management reserves the right to increase the full time afternoon shift complement with full time bargaining unit employees through the hiring of additional full time bargaining unit employees by the amount hired as of April 27, 2015. The summer schedule is outside the dates defined by the Provincial Minimum Maintenance Standards.
