Supplemental Contracts. Teachers employed for supplemental duties shall be issued supplemental contracts in keeping with the provisions of Section 3319.08 of the Ohio Revised Code. All supplemental duties shall be authorized by the Board. Said teachers shall be paid in keeping with the procedure below. A job description shall be developed by the Administration for each supplemental duty. Copies of the job description shall be available to teachers upon request and shall be given to teachers when supplemental contracts are awarded. The Administration will make every effort to limit the issuance of no more than two (2) supplemental contracts per teacher as set forth in this article, and all parties involved shall cooperate to achieve this objective. No teacher shall be coerced to accept a supplemental contract and teachers may only be required to accept supplementals in accordance with this paragraph. When qualified teachers do not seek the CTSO positions and vacancies exist, the procedure for filling the supplemental contracts will take the form of a rotation of responsibility within the pathway area. Sequence of responsibility shall begin with the qualified teacher with the least seniority in the district, but having at least one (1) year of teaching experience. When it is necessary to utilize the rotation system, the Administration will advise the appropriate qualified teacher of his/her responsibility. Upon notification by the Administration of being chosen, the teacher may delay his/her year of service if another qualified teacher is willing to exchange places in the rotation. Teachers assigned to a supplemental position through the rotation system shall only be required to serve in that position for one (1) year per rotational assignment. This provision is not applicable in the event there is only one teacher in the area. A qualified teacher shall be defined as a career-tech instructor whose pathway is within the scope of the particular CTSO. A maximum of two (2) academic instructors may serve as a CTSO Advisor per each CTSO. Two (2) qualified teachers may share a position and divide the compensation. The rotation system will not apply to supplemental positions other than those relative to CTSOs. Where there is only one (1) qualified teacher in the bargaining unit, that teacher will not be required to accept the supplemental position. The position may be filled according to law if the unit member declines the position. There shall be a minimum of one (1) CTSO advisor position per required organization, a minimum of one (1) other student activity advisor, one (1) academic department chair per department, and one (1) lead mentor when applicable. Each year all supplemental positions shall be posted. When a vacancy occurs in a supplemental position, staff will be notified and normal application and interview processes will occur. The rotation system shall not apply if applicant(s) applies for the vacancy. The Board agrees to compensate the supplemental positions at the rate of $2,400. Additionally, there will be At-Large Coordinator/Advisor positions keeping the total number of supplemental positions at 19. Positions will be filled at the discretion of the administration.

Supplemental Contracts. Teachers employed for A. The performance of extracurricular activities to be covered by supplemental duties contract shall be issued limited to those activities specified in the Supplemental Salary Schedule in this Article. The Board shall have the right not to fill any supplemental positions. The Board shall have the right to add to the list of supplemental positions during the term of this Agreement without bargaining. The Association may, if the Board agrees, open negotiations on any such newly created supplemental position at the conclusion of all such new supplementals. However, notification of the Association's intent to negotiate salary for newly created position(s) will be sent not later than June 15th of each academic year in which such positions are created. The Board of Education will issue supplemental contracts by certified mail to addressee only. The Board may revoke the supplemental contract if not returned to the Board within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt. If a new supplemental position is created, it shall be posted in keeping accordance with Article 15.
B. Supplemental contracts are defined as contracts issued for duties beyond the provisions normal classroom duties and/or responsibilities.
C. The total number of Section 3319.08 teachers holding supplemental contracts may vary according to student enrollment, student participation, addition of programs, or discontinuance of an activity, however, the supplemental positions currently in existence will continue unless any of the Ohio Revised Codeaforementioned occur.
D. For purposes of advancement on the supplemental salary schedule, a year's experience in the Gallia County Local School District will be considered a season within the supplemental activity area. All Such years need not be consecutive.
E. Prior years of experience in the same supplemental duties position, whether at the District or at another school district, will be considered when determining salary placement, provided such prior experience was for grades seven through twelve. It shall be authorized by the Board. Said teachers shall be paid in keeping bargaining unit member’s responsibility to provide the Board with the procedure below. A job description shall be developed by the Administration for each supplemental duty. Copies verifiable proof of the job description shall be available to teachers upon request and shall be given to teachers when such prior experience.
F. Members whose supplemental contracts are awardedto be nonrenewed shall be so notified in writing no later than June 1st. The Administration will make every effort to limit requirements of said notification shall be met through either a hand delivered notice or by regular U.S. mail.
G. The appropriate administrator or Board approved individual responsible for the issuance oversight of no more than two (2) supplemental contracts per teacher as set forth in this article, and all parties involved may at the end of a season or after the completion of the supplemental contract obligations provide to the individual a summarized evaluation of their job performance.
1. The evaluation shall cooperate have no implication/impact on the teachers limited or continuing contract.
2. The evaluation shall serve to achieve this objectiveprovide the individual with a plan of suggested improvements if deficit areas are noted.
3. No teacher The evaluation shall not be the subject of a grievance.
4. The individual may file a written response to the evaluation.
5. The evaluation is not a mandatory obligation for the administration to complete.

There shall be a minimum Supplemental Contract for District specified co-curricular, special and supplemental assignments. Appointments to co-curricular, special and supplemental assignments are for one year and shall be in accordance with current Washington Laws and Washington Administrative Code regulations. Assignments are confirmed through prompt return of the signed Supplemental Contract. Curriculum development work shall be paid at a rate of $32 per hour, adjusted annually to the COLA from the state. Any employee having completed fifteen (15) years of work in the District will, upon written request made by October 15 of each year, be issued a supplemental contract for up to ten (10) days at his/her per diem rate for curriculum work or other projects offered by the District during the school year, September 1 through August 31. No more than two such supplemental contracts will be issued during the employee's career with the District. The total dollars expended for such supplemental contracts will be $120,000 for each school year of this Agreement. Should the total value of the requested supplemental contracts for either year exceed the available funds, then all of these supplemental contracts would be reduced proportionately in length to the degree necessary to utilize fully, but not exceed, the available amount. Certified employees in the building will be given first consideration for appointment to any co-curricular assignments as defined under Article IV, Section C of this agreement for which they indicate an interest to the building principal or designee. Employees whose co-curricular assignment will not be renewed will be furnished written reasons, upon request to the personnel administrator.
1. The building principal will ask all teaching staff in the building to submit an interest sheet, listing all co-curricular activities contained in Article IV, Section C of the collective bargaining agreement that the teacher would be interested in and willing to take, together with a phone number where the teacher could be reached all summer in case of summer vacancies. A reasonable effort will be made to contact the interested teaching staff at the number provided, even if they did not respond to the building posting (see section "2" below).
2. When a co-curricular activity contained in Article IV, Section C of the CBA comes open, the principal or other building administrator first will notify all persons teaching in that building for any part of their teaching assignment, and will specify a deadline and method for responding. This notice can be by any method reasonably believed to reach all certified staff in that building (for example, written notice distributed in all teacher mail boxes; posting in the building in the staff room, e-mail, etc.), but, at a minimum, will include some sort of written notice or posting in the building for at least two days. No posting or announcement is made outside the building at this time.
3. The principal or other building administrator will consult with all in-building teachers who indicated an interest in the assignment. This will generally be a brief conversation, during which candidates will be asked their plans for the program if they were hired for the activity. Teachers may be asked to submit information about qualifications for the particular assignment in writing at the time the notice of interest is submitted.
4. If the principal/administrator in charge of filling the co-curricular activity position decides to select one of the in-building candidates, the candidates will be so notified, and no further steps need to be taken.
5. If the principal/administrator decides either to (1a) CTSO advisor not select an in-building candidate(s) or (b) look outside the building, but still keep the best in-building person under consideration, the principal will notify the in-building teacher(s).
6. If no in-building teacher is selected, the principal/administrator will notify the personnel office and the position per required organization, is posted a minimum of one five (15) calendar days in all the other student activity advisor, one (1) academic department chair per departmentbuildings, and one (1) lead mentor when applicablealso advertised outside the District, if the administration desires.
