Tamper-Proofing. Sharps containers designated to be used within a public/patient access area are to include a safety mechanism to ensure that hand access to the contained contents is not possible. In some instances it may be required to ensure that the sharps containers are locked in position on a bracket or trolley to prevent the removal of the sharps container (by general public) or accidental intervention
