Technological Planning. It is understood that the implementation of technological change is, in itself a process as well as being part of a process of continuous improvement. The technological changes will be introduced progressively over time, therefore the Company will discuss with the Union the planned introduction of technological change into the work place thirty (30) days prior to the implementation of such change. The discussions shall include the solicitation and consideration of recommendations of the Union as to the accomplishment of the planned changes. It is understood that cooperation between the Company and the Union is vital to the success of implementation. As part of these discussions, the Company will provide the Union with information concerning the nature of the technological change to include: 1. a description of changes planned, 2. the planned effective date or dates of implementation, 3. the approximate number and classifications of employees likely to be affected by the change, 4. the effect that the change is likely to have on the terms, conditions and security of employment of the affected employees, 5. the number of jobs and job classifications to be corrected or abolished by the change, to the maximum extent that such information is then available, 6. the reasons for change and/or the goals and objectives that the change is intended to fulfill.
