Common use of Term Dates Clause in Contracts

Term Dates. 2.1 The term of the Executive’s employment shall commence on the Effective Date and continue until sooner terminated in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. Executive and Employer acknowledge and agree that the terms of employment of the Executive are “at will” and that this Agreement may be terminated by either Executive or Employer at any time upon not less than thirty (30) days’ prior written notice to the other. 2.2 This agreement refers to the dates defined in this section, as follows: (i) the date of commencement of employment pursuant to this agreement is the “Effective Date”; (ii) the period of time during which the Executive is an employee of the Employer pursuant to and in accordance with the terms and provisions of this agreement is hereinafter referred to as the “Term”; (iii) each year which begins with the Effective Date (or with the anniversary of the Effective Date) and continues until the next anniversary of the Effective Date is hereinafter referred to as an “Employment Year”; and (iv) the last date of employment, for any reason, is the “Expiration Date.”
