TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. Pursuant to rules established by the Director of Human Resources, time off for the purpose of medical examinations including examinations by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, and/or treatments resulting from injury on the job, shall be charged to injury leave. Injury leave shall be allowed for actual time spent (including travel time) for scheduled physician appointments and/or treatment resulting from an on-the-job injury.

All examinations required by the City shall be conducted at City expense. The City complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act with regard to medical examinations. To the point that the position of full-time Dispatcher\Jailer is prescribed to wear a uniform, effective January 1, 1999, every full-time Dispatcher\Jailer shall be provided with two(2)new uniforms consisting of a shirt and pants of wash and wear material. These uniforms are in addition to what is provided administratively which is not a part of this MOU.
TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. Employees shall be granted reasonable time off with pay for the purpose of taking examinations when such examinations are given by the City and scheduled during the employee’s work shift; provided, however, that each employee entitled to such time off with pay shall give reasonable advance notice to their supervisor. Employees shall be granted time off with pay for the purpose of U.S. Coast Guard license renewal and/or radar observer certification when such activity can be conducted during an employee’s regularly scheduled work shift without adversely affecting pilot service operations. Employees will obtain advance approval for such time off from their respective supervisor. If the radar observer certification renewal process cannot be completed during an employee’s regularly scheduled work shift, the employee will be granted an additional day off with pay to complete the process. The day will be paid, accumulated as book overtime, or taken as an additional day off at the employee’s discretion. However, time off is subject to the approval of the supervisor. Additionally, employees shall not be permitted to accrue more than 160 hours of book overtime. A day is equivalent to 12 hours’ straight time.
TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. In addition to paid leave to attend examinations in approved courses of study, the employer shall grant paid leave for the morning preceding an afternoon examination or the afternoon preceding an evening examination. Paid time off, which is not otherwise made up, should not be granted prior to morning examinations.
