Common use of Time Off for Grievances Clause in Contracts

Time Off for Grievances. In the event a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and/or an employee of this unit is requested by the administration to act upon a grievance during working hours, he/she shall notify his/her department head before he/she leaves and upon returning, report to said department head. The Board shall pay the officer member(s) and/or the employee at their regular rate for reasonable time spent during their regular working hours in processing grievances and collective bargaining in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. Time spent by the employee beyond regular working hours shall not mandate overtime payment.
