Title Standards Clause Samples

The Title Standards clause defines the criteria and requirements that a property's title must meet to be considered acceptable in a real estate transaction. Typically, this clause outlines what constitutes a marketable or insurable title, referencing local bar association standards or specific title insurance guidelines, and may address issues such as liens, encumbrances, or exceptions that are permissible. Its core function is to ensure both parties have a clear understanding of what is required for the title to be deemed satisfactory, thereby reducing disputes and facilitating a smoother closing process.
