Common use of Training Hours Clause in Contracts

Training Hours. a) It is understood that the following training programs are required as a condition of continued employment and have been designated as such by the Ministry of Community & Social Services: current CPR and First Aid and current Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI). b) CPR and First Aid and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) will be provided by in-house trainers at no cost to employees. Employees will be paid to attend provided they have passed the probationary period. Mileage will not be paid by the Employer for attendance. c) Defensive Driving and CPR and CPI refresher courses which include fire extinguisher training and generator training and Personal Outcomes Measure Training will be provided by the Employer by certified instructors and employees will be paid to attend this training provided they have passed the probationary period. a) Ongoing WHMIS training, back care training, person-centered planning training, Workplace Violence Training, Abuse and Neglect Training, Quality Assurance Measures Training, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Training and other training deemed essential by the Employer will be provided at team meetings or through self-directed learning during work hours. b) The Employer will attempt to schedule all training during hours where the requirement for backfilling staff is not necessary or kept to a minimum.
