Common use of Transfer Arrangements Clause in Contracts

Transfer Arrangements. An employee who is displaced from his job as a result of technological change shall be given an opportunity to fill any vacancy for which he has seniority and for which he has the qualifications and ability to perform. If there is no vacancy, he shall have the right to displace employees with less seniority, in accordance with Lay Off procedure specified in this Agreement. Where new or greater skills or licenses are required than are already possessed by affected employees under the present methods of operations, such employees shall, at the expense of the Employer, be given a training period during which they may acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no reduction in wage or salary rates during the training period of any such employee. This article is not applicable to Occupational Therapy Agreement: Applicable to Engineers Agreement: The Employer and the Union shall each from time to time appoint a group of not more than two (2) persons from each side and the groups thus appointed shall together form a committee to be known as the Committee. The Committee shall meet at the call of either group upon at least five (5) days notice, and not more often than once in each month (unless by common accord) for the purpose of discussing relations and other matters of mutual concern.
