Common use of Transfer Arrangements Clause in Contracts

Transfer Arrangements. An employee who is displaced from his job as a result of technological change shall be given an opportunity to fill any vacancy for which he has seniority and for which he has the qualifications and ability to perform. If there is no vacancy, he shall have the right to displace employees with less seniority, in accordance with Lay Off procedure specified in this Agreement. Where new or greater skills or licenses are required than are already possessed by affected employees under the present methods of operations, such employees shall, at the expense of the Employer, be given a training period during which they may acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no reduction in wage or salary rates during the training period of any such employee. ARTICLE COMMITTEE
