Transfer Out of the Unit. Any employee who transferred out of this bargaining unit into another position within the Central Dispatch on or before December 31, 2013, shall continue to earn seniority within the bargaining unit. If said employee is later involuntarily removed from said position, he may exercise his seniority to return to the bargaining unit and for all other purposes provided for in this Agreement. If said employee returns to the bargaining unit for any other reason, he shall forfeit his seniority for all matters related to work schedules (e.g. shift pick, vacation selection, etc.), but shall retain all accrued seniority for all other purposes. Any employee who transfers to another position within the Central Dispatch on or after January 1, 2014, shall continue to earn seniority within the bargaining unit for a period of one (1) year after said transfer. Any such member who returns to the bargaining unit before one year shall retain their full seniority for all purposes. Any such member who returns to the bargaining unit after one year shall forfeit his seniority for all matters related to work schedules (e.g. shift pick, vacation selection, etc.), but shall retain all accrued seniority for all other purposes. An employee, who is promoted to the position of Communications Supervisor from Communications Specialist, shall serve a probationary period of six (6) months in his new job classification. If, in the opinion of the Employer, he does not successfully complete his probationary period, he shall revert back to his prior job classification without recourse to the grievance procedure. Any such promoted employee shall also have the option of voluntarily reverting back to his prior job classification and rate of pay, if he so indicates in writing to the Employer during his probationary period.
