Transferability of the Approach to Other Communities. Similarly situated water systems may be able to adopt a similar multi- media approach to lead reduction. These suppliers must be willing to make extraordinary efforts toward compliance with US EPA and State regulations. They must consult with experts in the field and seek State approval before any treatment changes. In addition, the suppliers must provide significant funding to effective programs that deal with lead paint and dust exposure.
