UKCAA Information Requests Sample Clauses

UKCAA Information Requests. The UKCAA does not often receive requests from the public for release of information that it may have in its possession. The UK Freedom of Information Act – FOIA 2000, recently approved, will be implemented in November of 2002. Irrespective of the Act, the UKCAA remains bound by the provisions of the Civil Aviation Act of 1982, particularly Section 23 (Disclosure of Information) which prohibits the UKCAA from disclosing information furnished to it without permission. Also, the Data Protection Act of 1998 and the general law of confidentiality ensures that information held by the UKCAA from U.S. organizations cannot be released to the public without first receiving permission from the organization. If a request is received for the release of information involving a U.S. based UKCAA approval holder or applicant, the UKCAA will request the FAA’s assistance in obtaining the necessary permission from the organization before any information is released.
