Uncovered Shift. In the event that a shift is uncovered because another employee is unable to work, the current officer on duty shall be the first employee offered overtime to cover that shift. If the employee has worked in excess of forty (40) hours for the week, he/she shall be compensated at time and one half for those hours. If the current employee is unable to cover that shift, then that overtime shall be offered to those employees in order of next in line on the Chief’s overtime log as defined in section 1 above.
