Union Activities. The Union agrees that, except as specifically provided by the terms and provisions of this Agreement, employees shall not be permitted to engage in Union activities during working hours which interferes with the normal operations of the Employer and must not interfere with the progress of the work force.

Union Activities. If the Contract Amount is $50,000 or more, no Judicial Council funds received under this Agreement will be used to assist, promote or deter union organizing during the term of this Agreement (including any extension or renewal term).

Union Activities. Any employee, member of the Union, acting in any official capacity whatsoever shall not be discriminated against for his/her acts as such officer of the Union so long as such acts do not interfere with the conduct of the Employer’s business, nor shall there be any discrimination against any employee because of Union membership or activities.

Union Activities. ‌ 39.1 Representation‌ Upon request, employees will have the right to representation at all levels on any matter adversely affecting their conditions of employment. The exercise of this right will not unreasonably delay or postpone a meeting. Except as otherwise specified in this Agreement, representation will not apply to discussions with an employee in the normal course of duty, such as giving instructions, assigning work, informal discussions, delivery of paperwork, staff or work unit meetings, or other routine communications with an employee.

Union Activities. A. The Union may place one bulletin board in each fire station for the purpose of communicating normal and usual Union business to the membership. 1. Specific placement of such boards within a station shall be subject to the approval of the Fire Chief. a. The officially designated Union representative in each station shall be responsible for maintaining such board. b. The Fire Chief reserves the right to prohibit the posting and order the removal of, material that the Chief reasonably concludes will be disruptive of the operation of the Fire Department. c. Claims of arbitrariness on the part of the Fire Chief in this regard shall fall under the grievance procedure hereinafter provided. d. The Union will keep the Fire Chief notified in writing of the names of its designated representatives in each station. 2. The Union may use the Training Room at the Fire Training Facility (Hilltop) for a meeting place for its membership once a month or for any special meetings necessary for completing Union business. B. Members of the Employee Affairs Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full benefits for the purpose of negotiating terms of an agreement when such meetings take place at a time during which such members are scheduled to be on duty. The Fire Chief shall make the final determination as to manpower availability. C. Members of the Employee Affairs Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full benefits for all meetings and hearings between the City and the Union for the purpose of resolving a grievance when such meetings or hearings take place at a time during which such member is scheduled to be on duty. D. The City and RFF agree to the establishment of an RFF Time Bank for use by employees for the sole purpose of performing or conducting association business subject to the following conditions: 1. RFF members may donate only vacation or compensation time off (CTO) hours from an association member’s accrued leave balance for such hours. Such donation shall be voluntary, non-revocable and not returnable to the employee. Donations will be allowed only during the first pay period in February of each year. 2. The maximum number of hours any member shall donate is eight (8) hours per year. Any remaining unused hours in the time bank on December 31st shall be carried over into the next calendar year. Union Activities. Employees who are members of a Labor/Management Committee, Health and Safety Committee or other committees established in this Agreement shall, after giving reasonable notice to their supervisor, be permitted to attend such meetings. Unless mutually agreed otherwise, such meetings will be held during normal working hours. Time off shall include any time needed to travel to the committee meeting except that no overtime will be paid if the travel time extends beyond the normal work day. Reasonable time, not to exceed one (1) hour, shall be allowed during work hours of members of any committee established by this Agreement to caucus immediately before the meeting. Employee participation in grievance meetings shall be pursuant to Article 25.

Union Activities. Employees shall have the right to request leave without pay for the purpose of attending Union conventions, conferences, and meetings. When such requests cannot be granted, the supervisor shall provide such denial in writing.

Union Activities. The Union agrees there will be no union activities on the premises of the Colleges, except as specifically referred to in this Agreement or approved in writing by the College.

Union Activities. No employee shall suffer a reduction in wages, working conditions or change in classification previously enjoyed, which were greater than those contained herein, because of the adoption of this Agreement nor shall they be penalized in any manner for any normal union activities.
