Union Activities During Working Hours. The UNION agrees that it will not solicit members or engage in UNION activities of any kind during work hours except, however, that during working hours: 1) That upon receipt of a prior written request and approval by the appropriate supervisor, an employee shall be allowed to attend meetings with management and/or supervisors scheduled on work time for the purpose of discussing disciplinary grievances provided the employee is directly involved in the matter; or 2) One (1) designated UNION ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may participate in the handling of a grievance with pay and upon prior request and approval of the appropriate supervisor. However, all employees are encouraged to resolve their problems with their supervisors directly and as promptly as possible. Any employee allowed to attend such meetings may be recalled to work.
