Common use of Union Investigation Clause in Contracts

Union Investigation. (a) The Employer shall allow a properly authorized representative of the Union to investigate issues under this agreement. The Employer is entitled to require an individual to substantiate that he/she is an authorized representative of the Union. (b) When access is required for the purposes of such an investigation, the Union representative will be required to obtain the prior written (faxed) permission of the Director of Human Resources or Labour Relations Manager to visit the premises, such request to be responded to as soon as possible and in any event within 12 hours of the request, and such permission not to be unreasonably withheld. (c) The investigation must not result in any disruption of the Employer's operations, and it must not result in any employee or employees neglecting their assigned work duties and responsibilities.
