Union Participation and Official Time Sample Clauses

The 'Union Participation and Official Time' clause defines the rights and procedures for union representatives to engage in union-related activities during working hours without loss of pay or benefits. Typically, this clause outlines the types of activities covered, such as attending grievance meetings or negotiations, and specifies the amount of paid time allowed for these purposes. Its core function is to ensure that union representatives can effectively fulfill their representational duties while balancing the operational needs of the employer, thereby supporting fair labor relations and workplace representation.
Union Participation and Official Time. 1. The union has the right to be present at all QIT Meetings. The union will be provided the same advance notice of meetings that team members receive. Official time to attend such meetings, not to exceed a total of 5 hours per week/facility, shall be in addition to any official time presently allowed by local agreements.
