Common use of UNION RECOGNITION AND SECURITY Clause in Contracts

UNION RECOGNITION AND SECURITY. (a) The Company recognizes the Union as the exclusive representative for all hourly rated production, maintenance, quarry and laboratory employees, excluding all office employees and all supervisors as defined by the National Labor Relations Act, as amended, for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to wages, hours and working conditions at its plants located at: Charlevoix, Michigan, Local D480 (b) It shall be a condition of employment that all employees of the Company covered by this Agreement who are members of the Union in good standing on the execution date of this Agreement shall remain members in good standing and those who are not members in good standing on the execution date of this Agreement shall on the thirtieth (30th) day following the execution date of this Agreement become and remain members in good standing in the Union. It shall also be a condition of employment that all employees covered by this Agreement and hired on or after its execution date shall on the thirtieth (30th) day following the beginning of such employment become and remain members in good standing in the Union. (c) The term "employee" as used in this Agreement refers only to an employee whose job is set forth in the Job Classification list attached to each Local Agreement or any subsequent job added to the list during the term of the Agreement.
