Employees designated by the Union as shop stewards may, upon notification and at a mutually agreeable time between the shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and supervisor, investigate, discuss, and process grievances with bargaining unit members in accordance with Article 18, Dispute Resolution. Union stewards will also be granted reasonable time during their normal working hours, as determined by the Employer, to prepare for and attend meetings scheduled by management for the following representational activities: 1. Investigatory interviews and pre-disciplinary meetings involving employees represented by the Union; 2. Union-Management Communication Committees and other committee meetings if such committees have been established; and/or 3. Before conferring with an employee, the representative of the Union shall make his presence and the purpose of his visit known to the Fire Chief or, in his absence, to the Officer then in command. The Officer in charge may refuse for a reasonable period of time to permit the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to leave his assigned duties if his leaving would interfere unreasonably with the performance of his duties or with the performance of the duties assigned to other employees. A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ must report back to the Officer in charge before returning to his assigned duties. 2.3.5 The Union must give official notice to the Employer of the name of each ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and of each officer of Local 1796, Olean Professional Fire Fighters Association, not later than the fifth (5th) working day following his designation. 2.3.6 In a manner consistent with past practice, the Union may hold Union meetings on the Employer's property which both companies on duty normally shall attend.

  • UNION REPRESENTATIVE'S VISITS 30.01 Duly authorized full-time representatives of the Union shall be entitled to visit the Co-operative for the purpose of observing working conditions, interviewing members and unsigned employees and to ensure that the terms of the Collective Agreement are being implemented. 30.02 The interview of an employee by a Union Representative shall be permitted, after notifying the General Manager or their designated representative, and shall be: (a) carried on in a place within the Co-operative's premises designated by management; (b) held whenever possible during the lunch period; however, if this is not practical; (c) held during the regular working hours; time taken for such interview in excess of five (5) minutes shall not be on Co-operative time unless with the approval of management; (d) held at such times as will not interfere with service to the public.
