UNION SHOP COMMITTEE. 6.01 The Union may elect or appoint not more than six (6) Shop Stewards from among employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period. Of the six (6) Shop Stewards, two (2) will represent the afternoon shift, for the purposes of assisting employees in the presentation of grievances, participating as representatives in investigations and meetings, etc. in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 6.02 Shop Stewards will have bi-monthly meetings with Management unless requested sooner by the Union or Management to discuss any local problems which may arise affecting the welfare of the employees. A maximum of three (3) shop stewards may be present. All Union Shop Meetings shall be held during the day shift and shall not continue beyond 4:00 p.m. of the day. Any Shop Stewards who are scheduled to work on the evening or night shift will be allowed a shift change for the day of the meeting noted above. It is understood that when a contentious point cannot be resolved departmentally, and if it is mutually agreed that the matter be brought to the Shop Committee for resolution, the Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ involved will be compensated at his straight time hourly rate for the time spent at the meeting. During these monthly meetings should issues arise surrounding the operations of the Company, either side will have the ability to ask questions and discuss these issues. These discussions can include, but are not limited to business information relevant to competitiveness issues. 6.03 Minutes of Union Shop Committee meetings shall be taken and signed by the representative of the Committee and the Company prior to them being posted. Drafts of the minutes shall be provided to the Chair of the Shop Committee within ten (10) calendar days of the meeting, and the Chair of the Shop Committee shall return the draft copy to the Company within four (4) calendar days from the date of receipt of the draft. A signed copy of the Minutes will be given to each member of the Committee. 6.04 No member shall be discharged or discriminated against for their activities as a Union member. A member who works on a committee or under the instruction of the Union shall not lose their position or be discriminated against for so doing. If an urgent matter develops which requires review before the end of the operating shift, appropriate shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇(s) and/or the employee(s) will advise their supervisor so arrangements can be made to discuss the matter as soon as possible ...
UNION SHOP COMMITTEE. The Union shall be represented by a Shop Committee of not more than five (5) members nor less than three (3) members, all of whom shall be employees of the Company, shall have completed their probationary period with the Company as herein provided, and shall be chosen by members of the Union. The Union Shop Committee shall negotiate in the manner as hereinafter provided with the Company on grievances that may arise in the Plant. International Union Officials may be called in by the Shop Committee to assist in these negotiations.
UNION SHOP COMMITTEE. The Company recognizes a Shop/Bargaining/Grievance Committee consisting of one (1) or more members appointed or elected by the Union. The Shop Committee shall be selected from members currently employed by the Company and covered by this Labour Agreement. 1. During regular working hours, Stewards will be allowed a reasonable amount of time from their regular work to properly process complaints or grievances subject to the following provisions; such business must be between the Union and the Management in the proper administration of this Agreement. 2. The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of necessary Union business. Union business is defined as the investigation and processing of grievances and complaints. 3. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall obtain the permission of the Plant Manager before leaving his job assignment. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. 4. The time away from production work shall be reported in accordance with the timekeeping methods of the department in which the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is employed. 5. In accordance with this understanding, the Company will compensate the Employee and ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ while attending meeting(s) with the Company regarding the grievance at their base rate of pay. 6. The Company will pay the members of the Bargaining Committee for time lost from regularly scheduled work at their base hourly rate time eight (8) hours. The Company will not pay lost time wages to the Bargaining Committee attending conciliation and mediation meetings. 7. In the event a member of the Bargaining Committee attends a negotiations meeting with the Company rather than remain on a scheduled vacation for that day, that member will be entitled to a subsequent day off with pay within that vacation year, using a calculation based upon eight (8) hours at his base hourly rate. The day to be selected will be determined by the Employee and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.

  • Benefits Committee As per LOA#10, a benefits committee comprised of the employee representatives and the employer representatives, including the Crown, shall convene upon request to address all matters that may arise in the operation of the OSSTF ELHT.

  • Investment Committee The board of directors of the insurance company shall appoint an investment committee of the investment manager as the investment committee of the insurance company. The investment committee shall meet at least once each quarter to review the investments and loans of the insurance company.

  • JOINT LABOUR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE A Joint Labour Management Committee shall be established to attend to those matters which are of mutual interest. To ensure its effectiveness the Committee shall be separate and apart from the grievance procedure.

  • Labour Management Committee (a) Where the parties mutually agree that there are matters of mutual concern and interest that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour Management Committee Meeting during the term of this Agreement, the following shall apply. (b) An equal number of representatives of each party as mutually agreed shall meet at a time and place mutually satisfactory. A request for a meeting hereunder will be made in writing prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of grievance or negotiations for the amendment or renewal of this agreement. Any representative(s) attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance. (c) It is agreed that the topic of a rehabilitation program for drug and alcohol abuse is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. It is also agreed that the topic of the utilization of full-time and part-time staff is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. The committee shall have access to work schedules and job postings upon request. (d) It is understood that joint meetings with other Labour-Management Committees in the Hospital may be scheduled concerning issues of mutual interest if satisfactory to all concerned. (e) Where two or more agreements exist between a Hospital and CUPE the Committee may be a joint one representing employees under both agreements, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Union/Management Committee There shall be a union/management committee comprised of four (4) employee representatives appointed by the Union and four (4) employer representatives. The Committee's purpose is to provide and promote effective and meaningful communication of information and ideas and to make joint recommendations on matters of concern. Matters that are properly the subject of an individual grievance will not be discussed at this committee. The Committee will meet quarterly, unless agreed otherwise, at a time and place mutually agreed to provided there is business for their joint consideration. The parties will exchange agenda items at least one (1) week prior to the meeting. The parties further agree the Committee may meet at any time its members mutually agree a meeting should be held. The duties of the Chairperson will be shared by the parties. Copies of the minutes shall be provided to Committee members. The employer agrees to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives of the union attending such meetings. The parties may utilize video or teleconferencing services for the purposes of committee members attending committee meetings, where appropriate and available. Neither party can unreasonably deny an initiative to utilize video or teleconferencing services.
