Common use of Union Work Clause in Contracts

Union Work. a) Conventions: Leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority will be granted (subject to operational requirements) to not more than five (5) members elected or appointed to represent the Union at union conventions. Such employees will receive the pay and benefits provided for in this Agreement and the Union will reimburse the Employer for regular wages for the period of absence. b) Work: Leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority will be granted (subject to operational requirements) to not more than five (5) union members who are away from their normal duties attending to Union work. The Union will reimburse the Employer for the employee(s) pay and the cost of Employer paid benefits.
