Universal Identifier and Central Contractor Registration Sample Clauses
The Universal Identifier and Central Contractor Registration clause requires contractors to obtain and maintain a unique identification number and to register in a centralized government database. In practice, this means contractors must provide a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number or similar identifier and keep their registration information current in the System for Award Management (SAM) or its successor. This clause ensures that the government can efficiently track, verify, and manage contractor information, thereby reducing fraud and administrative errors while streamlining the procurement process.
