Unpaid Emergency Leave. Paraeducators will be allowed three (3) days of absence without pay each school year for personal emergency leave. For purposes of this Article, Personal Emergency Leave shall be determined by the Building Administrator. Personal Emergency Leave days will result in all wages and benefits being deducted from the Paraeducator’s pay for each day taken. Personal Emergency Leave days will not be carried over from one school year to the next. Absence due to inclement weather, if Paraeducators are expected to be on duty and personal leave is not available the Paraeducator may be assessed a Personal Emergency Leave Day. Snow days will be recorded separately as an “unpaid snow day.” Additional Personal Emergency Leave may be granted to cover personal exceptional situations at the discretion of the Director of Human Resources. Under no circumstances shall the School District’s decision to grant Personal Emergency Leave in excess of the maximum numbers listed above be construed as establishing a past practice or prejudice the District’s right to enforce such restrictions at its discretion.
Unpaid Emergency Leave. A licensed staff member may apply for up to one (1) year of non-compensated leave of absence, to be granted at the discretion of the District, for emergencies of a serious personal nature. This leave is non- accumulative and must be approved in advance by the Board. In requesting emergency leave, the applicant must state the general nature of the emergency.
Unpaid Emergency Leave. In the case of a serious emergency or illness, a member can apply for maximum of two weeks total Unpaid Emergency Leave. This must be approved by the site coordinator and the program director and shall require written documentation. If it is approved, this unpaid leave shall not count toward your personal leave, but all time must be made up to qualify for the post-service Educational Award. While on Emergency Leave, occasional contact (by phone) should be made with the site coordinate. However, if the Emergency Leave must exceed two-week time period, the AmeriCorps Member will be released from the program. Hours missed during Emergency Leave must be made up in order to complete the required hours of service. The birth of a child would be considered unpaid emergency leave.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. A teacher will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations beyond the control of the teacher which would significantly impair teaching service. Personal emergency leave may not be used for illness/injury, or illness/injury in the immediate family. Deductions from the gross pay of a teacher for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken. 2.   • Unpaid Leave Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.
