Common use of Use of Vacation Entitlement Clause in Contracts

Use of Vacation Entitlement. Paid vacation time off entitlements for permanent full-time employees are to be used during the year earned, with the exception that: (a) A full-time employee shall be allowed to carry over up to sixty (60) hours of unused vacation time, plus any unused supplementary vacation earned per Article 21.01 (b) to the following year provided that any request for carry over is submitted prior to December 1st of the current year, or (b) A full-time employee may request by December 1st of the current year, a payout of unused vacation time of up to sixty (60) hours subject to the approval of the CAO. Any approved payout shall be processed no later than February 28th of the following year.
