Common use of VARIABLE INVESTMENT OPTIONS Clause in Contracts

VARIABLE INVESTMENT OPTIONS. Each Variable Investment Option of the SPL, pursuant to its fundamental investment objective and its investment policies, will invest all of its investable assets in the Underlying Funds. TLIC may, at its sole discretion, establish new Variable Investment Options of the SPL or eliminate one or more such Variable Investment Options if marketing needs, tax considerations or investment conditions warrant. Without limiting the foregoing, TLIC may establish new Variable Investment Options in the event that new Vanguard Target Retirement Funds are established, and may establish an appropriate age range for Participants to be assigned to such new Variable Investment Option pursuant to this Contract. Any new Variable Investment Options may be made available to existing Contractholders on a basis to be determined by TLIC. TLIC has the right to amend Appendix A by providing written notice to the Contractholder to reflect changes made pursuant to this Section 4.2.
