Variation in Standard Teaching Load. 17.02.5.1 Upon voluntary application by an Employee, the Employer may, after consultation with the Department Chair, authorize a variation in the number of courses taught in a particular period in order that the standard teaching load may be realized over a longer period. 17.02.5.2 Allowing for alternative work arrangements including the consideration of service other than teaching as equivalent to part or all of the standard teaching load or considering the teaching of courses beyond the standard teaching load as equivalent to part or all of the research and service responsibilities. 17.02.5.3 Allowing for extraordinary research, scholarship or other creative work in place of teaching.
