Vesting Forfeiture Termination of Employment and Disability Clause Samples

This clause defines how an employee's rights to certain benefits, such as stock options or equity awards, are affected by their continued employment, termination, or disability. It typically outlines the schedule by which benefits become fully owned (vested) by the employee, the circumstances under which unvested benefits are forfeited if employment ends, and how disability may impact vesting or forfeiture. The core function of this clause is to clarify when and how employees earn or lose rights to benefits, providing both parties with clear expectations and protecting the company from unintended obligations.
