Voluntary Continuous Learning Sample Clauses

Voluntary Continuous Learning. (a) The Employer and the Nurses recognize the importance of continuous learning and to that end, education programs shall be identified by the Employer in consultation with the Nurses and the Nurses will make every reasonable attempt to participate in these voluntary education programs. (b) The Employer will arrange for the presentation of the voluntary education programs in such a way as to maximize availability to the Nurses and minimize cost and disruption to the Nurse and the Employer.

Other related costs for travel, lodging and meals will be reimbursed in accordance with the Employer’s travel policy.

(a) The Employer will provide to Nurses newly hired from outside the current work force to positions within the Bargaining Unit a paid orientation period at the Nurse's regular rate of pay of at least five (5) shifts rotating between days, evenings, and nights, adequately covering essential information, procedures and routines. Such Nurse shall be required to attend such orientation as a condition of her hiring. (b) Those Nurses whose responsibilities change and that change requires orientation will receive a paid orientation for the applicable shifts required.
