Common use of Volunteers and Bargaining Unit Work Clause in Contracts

Volunteers and Bargaining Unit Work. ‌ It is agreed that volunteers have a role to fill in the operation of a seniors’ facility and are an important link to the community being served. The use of volunteers will not result in the layoff of bargaining unit employees, nor will volunteers be used to fill established positions within the bargaining unit. The use of volunteers will continue as per current practice. It is further agreed that the current practice regarding the use of volunteers, as of the date of execution of this agreement, is consistent with the above.
