Common use of Weekend Assignment Clause in Contracts

Weekend Assignment. Within certain departments there may exist a need for certain employees to work a scheduled four (4) consecutive day forty (40) hour workweek which includes Saturday and/or Sunday. There also may exist a need for certain employees to work a scheduled five (5) consecutive day forty (40) hour workweek which includes Saturday and/or Sunday for employees who have consented to work a five (5) day, forty (40) hour schedule. Any employees so assigned shall receive an additional one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for those hours worked on Saturday or Sunday or both if included within their forty (40) hour work week. This additional pay constitutes premium pay, and is not to be considered as part of the employee's base salary.
