Common use of Work on a Public Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on a Public Holiday. (a) An employee may be reasonably required to work on a Public Holiday. (b) The employer will seek volunteers for work on Public Holidays but in the absence of volunteers will attempt to schedule employees to work on Public Holidays on an equitable basis. (c) The employer will make every effort to roster employees in a manner that is fair and equitable to ensure that allocation of Public Holiday hours are divided equally on a rotating basis. (d) The employer will endeavor to accommodate the needs of employees if they have family or study commitments. The employer will have regard to any other relevant personal circumstances as far as is reasonably practicable.
