Common use of Work Units Clause in Contracts

Work Units. The following autonomous Work Units shall be established: Art Museums Parking Services University Guards In the event of a reduction in force in a work unit, displaced employees, at the time of layoff, may be given due consideration for openings in other work units provided the employees affected have the qualifications and work record that, in the opinion of Management, would justify such consideration. Failure to be considered for a position under these circumstances cannot be the subject of a grievance. Each Work Unit shall be considered separate for all applications of this collective bargaining agreement including, but not limited to, seniority, job opening, and layoffs.
