Worker’s Disability Compensation. 1. Any Employee who is absent because of an injury or disease sustained or contracted while on duty for the Romulus Community School District, compensable under the Michigan Worker’s Disability Compensation Law shall receive from the Employer the difference between the Worker’s Disability Compensation payment prescribed by law and their regular salary for a period of twelve (12) weeks (sixty working days). This benefit is to be provided without reduction of their sick leave bank. At the end of the twelve (12) week period, the Employee has the option of District sick leave benefits or continued Worker’s Disability Compensation. 2. The Employer shall designate at least two (2) physicians, one of which is a medical doctor, to whom an Employee may report for examination to comply with Worker’s Disability Compensation Insurance.
