It is the purpose of this Agreement, in recognizing a common interest between the Company and the Union in promoting the utmost cooperation, friendly spirit and open and honest communication between the Company and its employees, to set forth conditions covering rates of pay, hours of work and conditions of employment to be observed between the parties and to provide a procedure for prompt and equitable adjustment of grievances. To this end, this Agreement is signed in good faith by the two parties.
