Access to DIII-D is determined according to the funding source for your DIII-D activities and the scope of research to be performed. One’s affiliation does not affect access. A user agreement is required to qualify an organization as a funding source. Access to DIII-D is provided for any researchers funded by an award from the United States (US) government, regardless of the affiliation of the researchers. Select international funding sources may also be qualified funding sources due to existing multi-lateral agreements involving the US.
