In years past, we have needed to modify our billing structure and have done so with Contract Modification Agreements, with the last time being April 2017. Since all of our governmental contracts are staggered, unfortunately, there is no easier way to do this. On Tuesday evening, our board of directors voted to adopt a much simpler billing format based off of recommendations from our billing company and the current trends on the way insurance companies are handling and paying ambulance claims. Additionally, this takes away the billing issue with changing medical protocols and procedure changes that happen every year in March. By removing all of the medication and procedure list in itemized billing and simply charging base rate and mileage, the whole billing process becomes much easier and streamlined. We are hoping to implement this change by June 1 and would like to be on your upcoming agenda as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact me as soon as possible.
