In the grammar of Sieg, Siegling and Schulze (19 1), all we learn about the meaning of the subjunctive is that there is a “Konjunktiv, der zugleich das Futurum vertreten muß” (p 24). Couvreur argued against the use of the term “Konjunktiv” because in his eyes it is too limited.
