DATE: February 10, 2021 STATEMENT OF THE ISSUE: In 2018, the St. Simons Island Public Library, a branch of the Marshes of Glynn Libraries, and the Literary Guild of St. SimonsIsland, Inc. were given permission to repurpose space in the Casino Building to create a used bookstore. The Literary Guild maintains and runs the year-round bookstore on behalf of the library with all proceeds donated to the library to purchase new books. In addition to the store, the Literary Guild conducts two used book sales a year to also raise money for the purchase of new books at the library. The Literary Guild requested increasing store operating hours beyond public hours of operation of the library. Due to the store location being separate f
