It is the intent of the Medical Quality Assurance Commission (Commission or MQAC) and the Department of Health to enter a mutually beneficial Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) which will promote efficiency, respect, and best practices in both organizations. The state legislature of Washington requires the JOA in statute and recognizes the successful nature of the Medical Commission and the Department in their respective organizational structures.
